About the job
The Business development Manager Malaysia focuses on effective business development and sales execution in Malaysia. (70%). The Business development manager also supports the inside sales activity for APAC region maintaining Salesforce and stakeholder management with the company’s sales support team (30%). The BD Manager reports directly to the Regional Sales Director.

Candidate profile
The ideal candidate is an experienced BD manager with a successful track record of new sales, generating demand, and deal closures. The candidate will need to demonstrate the right competencies, growth mindset, and ability to build a customer network in the country. Further, you meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelors or Diploma in Business Management, Science or Engineering.

  • More than 10 yrs experience in sales and business development in water & wastewater treatment industry in Malaysia and preferably in Southeast Asia.

  • Familiarity with OEMs, and application of membrane systems for water purification, wastewater reuse and recycling for municipal and industrial end users in Power, Semiconductors, Food & Beverage, Chemical, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Datacentres and Other Industries.

  • Working knowledge in Salesforce (data discipline, order processing, and reporting).

  • Ability to translate customer needs into clear internal actions, coordinating stakeholders across functions.

  • Sales/Commercial acumen with a structured, detail-oriented execution style (Hands-on)

  • Continuous improvement mindset (process optimization and automation).

  • Strong communication skills and ability to operate across cultures/time zones in APAC.

Responsibilities

  • Business development across Malaysia in the water and wastewater treatment sector for Industrial and Municipal applications

  • Manages sales activities and key accounts in Malaysia. Establish close relationships with Water/Wastewater treatment OEMS, EPCCs, resellers, product distributors, end users and consultants to identify and develop new business opportunities.

  • Develop suitable sales channel for NX membrane products (UF and HFNF). Work closely with the sales channel to secure new business opportunities for membrane product sales for replacement and greenfield projects.

  • Keep track of market intelligence on emerging opportunities and competition to strategize successful sales outcomes.

  • Independent performer to identify suitable business opportunities and manage the sales process until order fulfilment.

  •  Administrator of Salesforce with the upkeep of opportunities’ working with all APAC Sales personnel. Supports APAC team with order management coordinating with NX sales support team.
